The Holidays Part I

We hosted our first Christmas Eve dinner at our new condo and had a small crowd over for beef wellington, which Kevin and Adelina cooked to perfection, along with pearl onions, potato apple salad and chocolate fondue for dessert.  Alessandra decorated the table, Mom brought over a delicious bottle of wine, Vencing mixed some mean martinis, and Dad took photos all night.  I got made fun of for doing absolutely nothing, although I did point out that I had written the grocery list for the potato apple salad (it consisted of 3 potatoes, 3 apples in case anyone was wondering).

We missed Kevin's family dearly, but had a wonderful time with my family, and are truly thankful for our precious Carolina, who is a beautiful blessing and a joy.

A Night Out

We got dressed up to attend the Salesforce.com holiday extravaganza in San Francisco and had a great time having a few cocktails, mingling and dancing. Meanwhile, Carolina and Murray spent the evening with my parents, Vanessa and Mike .

A Holiday Baby Shower

Tonight was Vanessa and Mike's holiday shower that Kevin and I hosted together with my parents. Carolina got all dressed up with a new dress from Auntie Alessandra and was the belle of the ball. She even had fancy socks and shoes to match!

I'll be uploading some pictures from the actual party, but I couldn't wait to upload these pics!

One Month Old!

Carolina (aka the very hungry caterpillar) is officially one month old and she is getting big! At her 4 week appointment, she weighed in at 8lbs 9oz - a 2 pound weight gain in 3 weeks! She actually fits into her clothes now and is almost outgrowing a few outfits. She spends more and more time awake and alert, showing off her big, beautiful blue-gray eyes.

Dogs Galore

In the mean time, Murray is adjusting (somewhat) to life as a big brother. I'm having a hard time being consistent with the walks and the training, but there is improvement! We have a nice distraction with Vanessa's beagle, Flanders, and Carlo & Jo's Chihuahua, Peanut (visiting while they go home to Manila for the holidays) who, when all together, sprint around the house to the point of exhaustion. My poor parents!

And then there were four...

I thought we'd have many more photos & videos of Carolina at this point (don't get me wrong, we still have a ton), but we don't have much variety, hence the lack of frequent baby updates. So while I get organized, I thought we'd kick things off with our last photo of us as a trio.

This was taken just before I checked into the hospital, 12 days early. 14 hours later, Carolina Lynn was born at 6lbs, 9 oz, and Kevin snapped her very first photos.
